What is happening to Endeavour Card?
The Endeavour Card will cease to be operational from 31st October 2025. This means that, after that date you will not be able to use the card to obtain a discount on 16-19 travel as either a flash pass or as a form of payment for bus travel. This also includes the Endeavour Park and Ride card. However, there are several other discounts you can access instead.
Background on the Endeavour Card
The card was introduced nearly 15 years ago. Initially it was to ensure that young people aged 16-19 years of age were able to access a reduced fare on buses, because at that time young people aged 16+ were expected to pay an adult fare and the bus companies did not have a ready built-in discount scheme available. A further discount for Park and Ride users was added later.
Why is it Changing?
Since the Endeavour Card was first introduced, bus operators across Suffolk have set up their own discount schemes for young people and Park and Ride users and the Endeavour Card is becoming obsolete. We have seen a decline in usage and application over the last five years. We are issuing far fewer cards than ever before.
The fare cap scheme which prevents fares rising above £3 is currently set to continue until at least the end of March 2027.
When will it end?
New applications and top ups to existing Endeavour Cards (both 16-19 and P&R) will not be available from 31st July 2025.
If I have credit on my Endeavour Card – how do I get this back?
Card holders with a positive balance on their account at 31st July 2025 will be able to use up their credit until 31st October 2025.
Between the 1st – 30th November 2025, or earlier should you wish, you will need to request a refund on any outstanding credit on your 16-19 Endeavour Card.
Please log onto your account, check your balance and then email [email protected] requesting a refund, quoting the name on the card, card number and account number.
Refunds will be credited onto the payment card used to top up your account. If your card details have changed since your last top up, please notify us of your bank details so that we can arrange an alternative method of payment.
At the point of issuing a refund we will cancel your card automatically.
For those with a Park & Ride Endeavour Card, unfortunately as these are purchased as bulk journeys of 10, these are non-refundable. Therefore, it is important that before 31st October 2025 you have used up your remaining journeys.
