In care and thinking of going to university?
We interviewed Holly from C2C (Suffolk’s Children in Care Council) about her recent graduation from university with a 2:1 in Criminology and Sociology.
Holly talks about her foster carers influence and the support she received. She wants to inspire other children and young people in care who may be thinking of going to university.
Top tips from Holly
- Visit universities you are interested in – your social worker or foster carer may accompany you.
- Seek support in the application process from the people around you – your foster carers, social workers, librarians 🙂
- Join clubs to get outside and meet new people, keep in touch with people and friends at ‘home’.
- Seek support with managing your time and your workload – speak with your tutor.
