What is Youth Work Week?
Youth Work Week celebrates the youth workers who make a difference to you. It’s a chance for young people to share their experiences of the social activities, wellbeing support and the safe spaces that youth clubs provide.

What’s Happening for Young People in Suffolk?
- Suffolk Youth Pledge – Back in April, Suffolk’s Youth Parliament teamed up with local councillors to sign the Power of Youth Charter. It’s all about making sure your voice is heard and that young people help shape decisions about their future.
- 16–18 Youth Support Services – This is a team partnership between schools, colleges, youth services, and Suffolk County Council to help young people move into education, jobs, or training after Year 11. If you’re unsure about your next steps, they offer advice, 1-to-1 support, group sessions, and drop-in events across Suffolk to help you find the right path—even if things don’t go as planned.
- Youth Focus Suffolk – This project helps local youth groups do awesome things for young people. It’s backed by Suffolk County Council and the Collaborative Communities Board.
- Independent Travel Toolkit – Need help getting confident with travel? This toolkit gives young people with additional needs the skills to travel independently and safely.

Love the website 🙂
I used to be a sea scout growing up – best times, made friends away from school (which I didn’t like), encouraged me to be brave and try things out of my comfort zone like, abseiling and building rafts. Still remember my scout leaders and the life skills they taught me.
“I now have a tattoo of some advice a youth worker once gave me, to remind me that I do matter”
