You may be aware that this year Sendiass want to coproduce with families some new information and training around preparation for adulthood from the earliest years.
In our recent young person survey, leaving school or college and preparing to become an adult were two of the three main areas where young people told us they most wanted information and advice. And this is a theme often raised by parents and carers who contact us.
At the start of October we’re offering three drop-in opportunities for parents, carers and young people to tell us what kind of information they would like us to put together around this subject, in the first stage of coproduction.
Two of these are evening online opportunities which we hope might make it easier for young people to take part.
Young people and/or their parents or carers are welcome to book on and then join for 10 minutes to share their ideas or stay for longer, as they would like.
They don’t have to use their mics or videos – they can share thoughts in chat which will then be captured on the online whiteboard.
These are not training or advice sessions – we’ll be listening to the young people and parents/carers and capturing what they tell us they would like to know and in what form.
Young people are also most welcome to share their thoughts by emailing [email protected] and putting P4A in the subject header. I will then add these ideas to our overall capture.
