Why is this good for your emotional health and wellbeing?
Findings from a report ‘The Good Childhood Report 2024′ found that…
“The UK was named the unhappiest country in Europe for children in 2024, ranking lowest in children’s well-being and highest for low life satisfaction among 15 year olds compared to their peers across Europe.”
The report showed that many young people were/are feeling unhappy. So what can we do to be happier?
Finding something that makes you feel positive or that you enjoy doing can really help you to cope and stay positive – especially during difficult times. Also by looking at developing ‘Happy Habits’ which the below video explains…
How to complete this challenge?
Do something you know that instantly makes you feel happier like…
- Spending time with your pet
- Chat to a friend or relative that’s always good at cheering you up
- Do an activity or hobby
- Watch a comedy show or look up a funny joke
- Listen to your favourite song on repeat
- Bake or make something!
- Go for a run or swim!
12 Lessons in life to feel more happy:
- Accept what you can’t change.
- The more active you are the happier you’ll feel.
- You don’t have to achieve ‘big’ goals to be happy – it’s okay to enjoy small wins by just living moment to moment.
- Don’t spend money you haven’t got.
- Avoid dramas – don’t assume anything or take anything too personally.
- Help others.
- Accept that not everyone will like you.
- Surround yourself with positive people.
- Ditch being perfect – no one is.
- Be kind to yourself.
- Be daft, be silly – just be You.
- Just be where you are right now – Thinking of the past makes us regret, thinking of the future makes us anxious, so just focus on the present.
Watch the video below, though American, it has some really good life messages about being in control of your own happiness and success.
