Advent 30 Day What's Up Challenge 23 - Take time for some self-care

Why is this good for your emotional health and wellbeing?

Self-care is all about looking after our body and mind by doing activities that are self-nurturing. Self-care is important in maintaining a healthy balance in our life so that we don’t burnout – to stop the strains of every day weighing us down.

How to complete this challenge

Self-care can take many forms, some common examples of self-care activities include:

  • Relaxing in the bath or having a nice warm shower
  • Eating well
  • Getting enough sleep
  • practicing good hygiene – changing your bedsheets, washing your hair, cutting your nails – pampering your body.
  • Quiet time to rest, relax and reflect
  • Reading
  • Exercise
  • Solving puzzles
  • Creative activities
  • Spending time with loved ones
  • Playing with pets
  • Organising your room
