Why is this good for your emotional health and wellbeing?

Research shows that helping others can be good for our mental health. It reduces stress, improves our emotional well-being and even benefits our physical health – doing good is good for us.

How to complete this challenge

Keep an eye out for an opportunity to help someone with a random act of kindness.

20 acts of kindness you could do today:

  1. Call a friend that you haven’t spoken to for a while
  2. Send a letter to a grandparent
  3. Send flowers to a friend
  4. Offer to pick up some groceries for your elderly neighbour
  5. Offer to babysit for a friend
  6. Tell your family members how much you love and appreciate them
  7. Help your parents with a household chore
  8. Make a donation to a charity
  9. Offer to help cook dinner
  10. Make a cup of tea or coffee for a friend or family member
  11. Sign up to do voluntary work in your local community
  12. Send someone you know a joke to cheer them up
  13. Send someone you know a picture of a cute animal
  14. Send an inspirational quote to a friend
  15. Send a motivational text to a friend
  16. Engage in conversation with a shop assistant when paying at the till
  17. Sit next to someone different at lunch
