Why is this good for your emotional health and wellbeing?
Singing out loud is good for us in so many ways. Singing allows us to express ourselves creatively and emotionally, helping us to communicate feelings that may be difficult to express in words alone.
Singing in groups or in a choir is great at building social connection with others – giving us a sense of belonging.
Singing also requires focus and concentration which is good at taking our mind away from negative thoughts.
Did you know… Singing releases endorphins, which are known as “feel-good” hormones which help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and feel more relaxed.
How to complete this challenge
Sing along to your favourite Winter songs or carols.
You could get together with friends and family and have a Karaoke sing-off, or just simply put on some tunes and sing along in your bedroom, in the shower, or on your way to/from school or college. See how much better you feel afterwards!
