Do the ‘Physical’ Grounding Technique…
- Pick up something you see near you (not your phone) – What does the item you have picked up feel like?
- Splash your face with cold water and then with warm water or see how long you can hold an ice cube.
- Sing or listen to your go-to song that cheers you up or repeat this positive affirmation 3 times: “I am strong, I am worthy, I deserve to be happy, and I will get through this.”
- Savor your favourite scent – your perfume or aftershave, a spice, the smell of chocolate, a scented candle etc. Or just take some deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
- Think about the taste of the best thing you ever ate or something that you would like to eat.
