“Who are we?”

UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) is run by young people for young people aged between 11-18 years old. Young people are elected from across the country. The video below explains about Youth Parliament.

Video Introducing Youth Parliament.

In Suffolk the MYPs and DMYPs (Deputy/Members of Youth Parliament) work to represent the views of young people at a local and national level. Elections run every two years. In 2026 four new Suffolk members of youth parliament were elected for the term of 2026-2028.

“Who are Suffolk’s elected members of Youth Parliament?”

At the start of this year (2026) we received applications from young people in Suffolk, interested in representing key issues for young people in Suffolk, and we now have four newly elected members of Youth Parliament, who are:

  • Matthew Titchiner, covering Forest Heath and St Edmundsbury
  • Dayah Brunero, covering Mid Suffolk
  • Jemima Pomfrett, covering Suffolk Coastal and Waveney, and
  • Poppy Raynor, covering Ipswich and Babergh.

They will represent young people in Suffolk, for the next two years (2026-2028), where they will be researching and gathering their voices to build their campaigns about local and National issues that are important to you and your friends.

“What do we get up to?”

  • Meet new people and make lasting friendships.
  • Learn new skills.
  • Make a difference. UKYP gives young people a powerful voice that is heard by decision makers in local and national government.

“How do I get involved?”
