The best way to find out what the Leaving Care Service is doing in your local area is to follow the Leaving Care Service on Facebook: www.facebook.com/SuffolkLeavingCareService

One of the most important things to us, is that you feel heard. It’s your life and we want to support you to progress in whatever ways you want to progress (so long as it’s safe!)

What support and I entitled to?

As a care leaver, you’re entitled to receive different types of support. Visit the Children’s Commissioner website to find out more about the support that you might be entitled to as a care leaver.

When you are 16 you will gain a leaving care worker who will help you think about your next steps. This might be going to college or university.

Access to records

You don’t have to pay and you can receive support for your emotional wellbeing in the process. It’s a BIG DEAL!

You can find more details on our page Information about you and privacy – “Can I see the information you have about me?”.

Through our experience of working with care leavers we recognise that accessing your records is often a really difficult process to go through – make sure you have support around you” .
