Information, Advice and sources of support for young people in Suffolk

Our Voice (Leaving Care)

“Who are we?”

We are care experienced young people, between 16-25 years of age, who meet up monthly across Suffolk in Bury, Ipswich and Lowestoft.

“What do we get up to?”

We’re a social group who discuss experiences of day to day life over a cuppa and a jaffa cake.

We aim to improve the services and the experiences of young people in care and leaving care.

“How do I get involved?”

Come and join a group…But if you don’t fancy the group, you can tell us the good the bad and the ugly on this form.

Are you aged between 16-25 years of age? We would love for you to get involved!

Contact us via your Social Worker or Personal Adviser.
"How can I give feedback on the Leaving Care Service?"

The feedback you give us on your experiences is really important. Our Voice is a great opportunity to tell us what is going well and what needs to be improved.

...But if you don’t fancy the group, you can tell us the good the bad and the ugly on this form.
What have we been working on?
  • Challenging the stigma about being in care – The Tracy Beaker Myth.

  • Young people have become involved in interview panels for new staff and contracts such as housing and mental health.
  • We have improved support for 18 – 21 year olds.
